Hair: Hector has pitch black hair that is cut close along the sides and back of his head while grow a bit longer on top.

Eyes: Hector’s eyes are a dark shade of forest green with flecks of hazel around the outside edges. To fit with his authoritative role as an MP Ryan generally looks to be glaring or at least staring intently, as he maintains a squint. He feels this makes him look more intimidating. When he is off duty however he does relax and appear somewhat approachable.

Body: Hector has a very strong physique thanks to the workout schedule he keeps on, and excels at tackling people when the need comes up. His skin has a natural bronze tan due to Mexican heritage on his mother’s side of the family.

Distinguishing Features: Hector has two tattoos. One is the name of his home town that was destroyed when the Drathonians attacked Earth as well as the date of the attack. The second is the name of his mother who took her own life shortly after Earth fell due to the sheer weight of losing most of her family as well as the date that she died. He also has a fair amount of scars that he picked up over the years.

Personality: Hector has a very stubborn personality and isn’t easily swayed from what he sees to be the right course of action. This has both gotten him into trouble with people that see him as curt and headstrong, while it has also gained him favor with others who see him as being dependable and tenacious. Hector can also be very amiable when around people he considers being friends, and personally sees little difference between “friend” and “family” which he attributes to how he was raised.
Hector also has what he sees to be an uncanny amount of personal luck, despite the misfortunes he has witnessed in the past. Thanks to this luck he managed to meet a great group of friends, get a guard assignment in the same fleet as said group, and has been in the right place at the right time in order to stop various unlawful acts thus earning him the attention of his superiors as well as a few promotions.

Likes: Spicy food, word games, seeing the look would-be offenders’ faces as they second guess their actions when he is just about to tackle them, and visiting with a certain girl that he has feelings for.

Dislikes: Bland food, being ordered to go against what he feels to be right, tediously slow days on guard duty, and people insulting the people he is close to.

Goals: To serve and protect the people close to him, and hopefully one day win the heart of a certain someone.

Hector is an only child who was raised by his mother and grand-mother in a small suburb in the American South-West. He grew up never knowing who his father was, but he tried not to let that bother him too much. The only times his home life really impacted him were when other children his age would tease him about his circumstances, at which point Hec would occasionally snap and get into fights. This however caused his mother to feel sad, so young Hector eventually learned to avoid certain fights.
When the Drathonians attacked Earth, Hector and his mother were able to escape the destruction by fleeing the planet. Before the two had even been off the refugee vessel for more than a few days Hector’s mother ended her own life, leaving a young Hector alone in a strange new place with no one to rely on. He was taken in by a foster family with whom he was able to build a nice connection with, but it wasn’t the same. So Hector went searching for a different group that he could call family.
After some tumultuous years growing up, Hector became sold on joining the Terran Marine Corp. Not out of a search for revenge or even a reason to fight; instead he was drawn in by the stories he heard about valiant soldiers becoming heroes. So he enlisted as a way of indirectly helping those less fortunate by fighting the alien aggressors.
While in training though Hector managed to learn more about other ways he could accomplish his goals, and soon took a liking to the idea of becoming a member of the Military Police for it gave him an opportunity to more directly influence the people he wanted to help. Upon making the request to begin training as an MP, Hector boarded a shuttle bound for Prestige Naval Academy; which was the processing area for all cadets dealing either with the main Academy, or one of its affiliates. Hector was heading for one of the affiliates.
When he arrived at the academy he soon became lost on his way from the shuttle port to the processing hall. Amidst his wandering in hopes of finding his way, a friendly young girl offered to help him since he was rather obviously lost. Hector was caught off guard and felt one of those “love at first sight” moments as he accepted the girl’s offer with a few stuttered words. Before leading the way, a group of other students approached the girl and looked to be tagging along; one guy with an impressive ponytail who was looking rather serious which made Hector think he had somehow upset the man, and one of the girls appeared to be a twin to the girl who had offered to help him.
From there, Hector got to know the group well enough that they wanted to keep in touch with him, a request Hector was more than happy to agree to. So after finding his way, getting reprimanded by his superiors, and getting settled in at his new post Hector sent his first message to the girl thanking her for her help. Then like that, a lasting friendship began between not only him and the girl, but also the others within the group that had accompanied him. After a few years now of visiting whenever he could, and messaging when he could not, Hector was relieved when he received his assignment in the same fleet as most of the group.
