Duratanium is a superdense metal that is used for armor and for structure. It is mainly used by Terrans, but has also found use in Drathonian industry.

As a superdense metal, Duratanium is very heavy. It is an alloy, made up of a number of other metals, giving it properties that were previously found only in separate metals. Duratanium is extremely hard, but flexible enough to not be brittle. Its density allows it to protect from Kinetic impacts and energy discharges equally well, because they cannot penetrate the material very easily.

The most common form of Duratanium is a dark grey substance which is generally smooth to the touch, and does not shine very well. Duratanium is capable of being polished, as well as being honed to a fine edge, making it useful not only in industrial and military applications, but also for some kinds of jewelry as well as ceremonial bladed implements.

However, Duratanium is relatively difficult to manufacture, and some of its components are hard to find, though luckily these component metals do not make up very much of Duratanium's composition. Duratanium has an extremely high melting point, so while it may be possible to alloy it further, it is not very practical, as Duratanium is the strongest alloy currently produced in the Milky Way.
