Arty lingered over the body it had just swiftly ended, withdrawing the blade sheathed within. With a bit of care, the droid wiped the arm-mounted weapon clean of blood, the head on the unit craning over the shoulder to check for any more threats as it worked. Arditis didn't kill Terrans, and Arty was feeling it rather suddenly, the super-class programming of his behavior was running exceptions. For some reason, instead of freezing up or crashing, the unit just kept cycling exceptions.

One moment he had been running through a kill-target, then it had realized what it had done. He reached down to grab the weapon, and it contemplated if it was right to do so. He assuaged it with a simple gesture.

Arty grabbed the hand of the dead rev, and set it in a respectful spot on the chest, "Wrong place, wrong time, wrong side, bub."

It stood, and checked the weapon. The safety wasn't even off. The unit made a noise equivalent to a low chuckle, and toggled it and posted up at the door, glancing at the others, before setting up watch on the entrance they had come in from.

Niall made haste swapping with Cormac, ensuring that his pistol was properly loaded as he took the rear guard position. From the door he could hear the sounds of Brownie and the others' 'distraction' getting louder as they pushed closer to the armory as planned. The young Marine prepared to send his Sabeline contact another signal now that they had secured their target.

Inside the Armory was pretty standard fare- racks holding the typical Gauss Service rifles used by humanoids, and a few other specialized weapons like SMG's, matksman's rifles, Squad support rifles, as well as weapons for those with different physical dimensions, such as Drathonians. A rack also held plasma pistols and other similar sidearms, with the ammunition for everything stored in a second locked area- Cormac would need to access that as well in order to use the available weapons.

Camilla would notice that the majority of the available weapons were holdovers from the Drathonian war- perfectly serviceable if a bit worn and outdated. Arty, as well, would be pleased that he could find a weapon he had the correct programming to use easily.

"Music to my ears, ma'am," Cormac chimed as he practically skipped into the armory. Scanning the racks, he considered how he'd do with each piece. On one hand, he could go long range to make up for his lack of defense. One the other hand though, he was lightly armored and pretty confident in his dexterity, so the submachine guns were calling his name. Biting his thumb and dwelling like he were on which hat too buy, a low grumble swelled in his chest. "Ah, beans."

Striding forward, Cormac picked up an SMG, held it in mock firing position, and looked down the sights. Nodding in affirmation to himself, he tucked it under his arm and made his way to the ammo closet. With another slightly smug display, Cormac dug into his jacket and withdrew his encrypted ID before slotting it into the security panel. Another satisfying sound signaled the door unlocking.

Camilla blocked the armory door with her body until Cormac had made his choice. She had no hesitation with hers: she hefted an MG3 with both arms and slung the carry strap over one of her broad shoulders.

In her infantry days- eons ago it seemed, scrabbling through jungles- she was a heavy weapons specialist by trade. She'd never shaken her affinity for them, and took every opportunity to use them.

She crossed to the ammo stockade just a few places behind Cormac. Staff Sergeant Camilla Enos was silent and methodical as she prepared herself and her equipment for the trials ahead.

Skipper still held his TOR-S2 and merely had need for ammo. Dhalsim added a shotgun to his collection and likewise restocked his silenced rifle. Bienvenidas, though, surprised his whole team by claiming a reaper. They were all excellent shots, it came with the territory, but Benicio had never performed as a marksman for the team. In response to their curious stares, he said simply: "We need to be prepared."

Arty, having gotten over its doldrums, and with the entryway being plugged by another soldier, fell back to rearm. The Arditi made a quick sweep of the weapons, before its scanners caught the sight of a few racks of body armor and deployment gear. Immediately, the droid started to unclip the fraying, decaying plate carrier that it wore. It tugged a vest of similar size off the hangar, clipped it on, and began systematically transferring everything from the pockets of its old vest to the new one with a mechanical precision. The motions were quick, rapid, only stopping to consider the picture it had mentioned earlier. Looking at it now, it seemed to take more consideration of the woman depicted.

Then, it finished transferring its gear, dumped the items in its backpack into a fresh one, and tossed the dilapidated, old gear into a corner. Looking a bit more fresh, the unit stepped up to the weapon racks, its hands running appreciatively over all of the options available. The CSG, the Gurotte, the Bro, the Tiger, the SPAMR.

Arty stopped on a set of dusty Orcs; terrible, compact boarding shotguns. The fast-attack solution, the hail Mary of the Hopeless Bastards armory. The droid pulled the CQB firearm from its place, and seemed to consider the weight. The manipulators on its arms appeared to relish the feel of the forearm grip and the pistol-grip.

The moment passed, and the AELF set the Orc back in its place. Instead, it reached for a weapon that looked like a SUGR, but with a mechanical hand mounted underneath. When Arty pulled it from its rack, the stock was revealed to have been replaced with a double-articulating elbow, connected to an Arditi arm.

Beep. Arty's body let out a chippy noise, before its right arm dislocated and fell to the floor with a clatter. Its hand spun, settling the shoulder of the SUGR arm exactly where it needed to go for the magnetic guiders to bring it in and sink the restraining bolts. As soon as it socketed, the hand underslung of the SUGR began curl into a fist.

The ammo read on the the rifle lit up, and the harpoon motor, mounted inboard, began to spin up.

"I love tha' Orc, but nothin' beats good, old fashioned, tungsten solutions," chuckled Arty, picking up its dead arm, and stowing it in it's backpack, "Ain' that right, Angel?"

UNIT INTEGRATION REQUEST PROCESSING. PLATFORM: de Vos, IMP; Specialist: Designated DISPOSABLE. KIT ASSIGNMENT: CLOSE-QUARTERS.

Imp had been slamming a helmet atop her bandana-covered head after buckling into a plate carrier as the command unit in her head made its decision for her. A wide, tooth-filled, smile bloomed on the small marine's face and she let loose a single bark of laughter. There was something satisfying in having the damned dumb AI's coding drop all pretenses of being a "safeguard" and order her to die if need be.

A weight lifted from her shoulders that might just include her own head.

Imp swept behind Arty, holstering one of the Orcs from the pair at her hip before grabbing one of the solid-shot SMGs and ammo for both weapons. "The Angels are all grease under someone's tracks now big guy." The pale haired brunette's cybernetic eyes roamed satisfiedly across the stacked tungsten rounds in a magazine before seating it firmly in its well. "Only thing left around here is garbage lookin' to be burned."

Inside the Armory
As everyone cycled through the Armory, Niall was a bit downbeat at being last, but knew that there was enough in the armory that it didn't really matter. Making his way in the young marine scrounged up a plate carrier and a patrol helmet- not quite as nice as their normal combat gear but certainly better than nothing, and roughly equivalent to what the PG was wearing. He holstered his 2911 noting that he was running rather low on ammunition for it, and knowing that none for it would be found around here, picked up a Utility Gauss Rifle, which was the much younger sibling of the SUGR that made up the majority of Arty's new arm module. Attaching as many ammo pouches as he could to the front of his vest, the Ireshireman snapped up a couple more of the lighter weight UGRs and attached them to the back of his plate carrier, possibly loading himself down a bit but planning to hand them out to the first few soldiers in the distraction group to make it close. On top of that he snatched up a couple of magazines for Ketta's GMR, hoping to get some 'Brownie' points from the pretty Sabeline's, as many of the humanoids in his unit, himself included, had a bit of a crush on the woman.

"Awright, Ah think tha's all o' us lock'd 'n loaded!" Niall announced, the sounds of the distraction continuing to grow closer to the armory "Ah think we migh' want t' send someone out tha' back way jes' ta make sure we're all good, aye? Ah've got gear fer our friends though so Ah'll let'm know once we're ready ta smack this hammer agains' their anvil and bring the PG guys down, eh?"

The Distraction

While Camilla's team had been infiltrating the armory, Brownie's group had been making good on their distraction. A few of the group's members had improvised explosives from who knows where, but Browine wasn't going to ask, as it was a boon to their current objective. Those explosives had been used to bring a wall down on top of an entire squad of PG separatists, which had boosted the available weapons that they had, and garnered Brownie a pistol to supplement her currently ammo-less rifle, and while the Sabeline could use it as a club, she had just cleaned it and would rather avoid having to do so again. The 300 strong they had originally been, however, was really more like maybe 50, once they got down to the number of soldiers who were actually ready to fight, and even less if you counted those with actual firearms, but Though the Separatists did ostensibly outnumber them by quite a bit, they no longer had any element of surprise and were spread thin trying to keep the base secure, which again played to her advantage. The rest of her fireteam gone, as well as her CO and really any sort of structure, but she wouldn't let that stop them.

The Sabeline race had a history of of being honorable warriors, and had spawned numerous great commanders and generals, so she knew she couldn't let down her heritage, or the sacrifices of those they had already lost that day. As well, Brownie, or Kin'Etta Ketta, was from a prominent family and up to this point had really been a disappointment compared to her older cousin, whom was also in the UGR military, but as an officer rather than enlisted, and already on track to become the next clan head. While some delusions of grandeur and the desire to bring honor to her family's name did well inside her, she knew that there was more than that driving her right now.

"Come on! We're almost to the armory!" she shouted to her own ragtag group of marines-turned-rebels, as they advanced through steadily more determined defenses as the PG reinforcements summoned from around the base finally began to converge on their position. Ketta glanced around the corner of a building, and saw the front door to the armory wide open already, though it seemed that the seps had yet to realize it themselves. Firing a few shots from her pistol before ducking back behind cover, she smirked as her own group started another advance, their prize almost within reach.

Camilla's head shot up, then flicked toward Benicio who was staring at her. He nodded. Definitely the sound of boots and the sound of gunfire.

"Quick!" Camilla urged in a fierce whisper. "Dhal, Skip: back door! Imp, Arty: front! Ben: ammo! Cormac, Niall: call up friendlies for location, then get in the fight."

Staff Sergeant Enos swept out of the room, hot on the heels of Arty and Imp. After they took up position, Camilla tucked herself in a corner next to a window. "Once we get the affirmative on which ones are friendly, we're free fire," she informed them, still speaking quietly. The sounds of boots and bullets were growing in intensity.

In the back hall, Dhalsim and Skipper were using doorways as cover, the former crouched and closer, the latter standing to avoid friendly fire. Benicio loitered in the armory, stacking ammo and magazines for everyone's weapons so he could run them reloads once the fighting got started. He had a huge grin on his face: any day they had virtually limitless ammunition was a good fucking day. Calloused fingers got to work slotting physical rounds in magazines.

The Arditi's head went up sharply from its idling state, the headcase arcing to the direction of the front. In one motion, it grabbed the remaining two pieces of gear from the armory rack, extra ammo, its metal feel lightly tacking to get forward. As it had done before, it loped low when low cover was all that was available.

Shnk.

The pristine blade fired out of its sheath.

Sh-shuck

The SUGR arm cycled an action, loading a fresh tungsten dart into the chamber.

"Analyzin'... Assumin' ambush position..." Arty spoke mindlessly as it scanned higher parts of the wall. It bent its knees and threw itself up. Digging fingers around whatever handhold it could, it clambered above the entryway.

“Aye aye,” Cormac nodded in affirmation. The searing discomfort he had felt earlier had completely faded, and now it felt like the heat had tempered his will and lit a fire in his chest that fueled his courage. Sure, in part he was bolstered by the thought of heroically sweeping in to support Brownie, but he’d tell it the other way for the sake of style. Comfortably sporting some extra ablative body armor, and making sure his submachine gun was as ready as he was, the Ireman followed suit of the other soldiers. Moving quick and low, he shuffled out the door behind Arty, but stuck to a piece of low cover rather than trying to climb. Shots had been fired in the complex and separatists were moving. He was locked and ready for the signal.
