As the magical wolves jumped towards Riley's phantasm and Miller the dog-helmed threw its truncheon at its portion of oncoming enemies. The weapon flew straight and true – at first – but quickly began to writhe violently, the weapon itself was beginning to bend and flex out of shape. Just before the maul slammed into the foremost target it burst into flames and then grew outward explosively taking the form of a gargantuan version of one of Riley's wolf hounds. The hound slammed into the enemy wolf, sparks flying from its spectral coat and flames dripping from pristine white fangs.
Meanwhile, the phantasm itself had turned on its heels as soon its weapon had been turned into an extremely nasty projectile weapon. Placing a gauntleted hand firmly on Miller's shoulder the warrior-phantom made contact with the paladin. While the message perhaps didn't start off on the right foot – channeling a surge of blood lust and derisive distrust of Miller's holy patron – after a short period of turmoil the intent of the contact was sent across.
Loosen up. After relaying the short command the phantasm shut off all communication, but did not let go of Miller.
The dog warrior's other hand clamped down on the paladin's arm while the other shifted to get a better grip before lifted the armour-covered teacher off the ground and tossing him towards the direction of both the stone and normal Riley.
Riley gulped as her phantasm turned from throwing Miller and met the wolves charge, pushing into the group of beasts and grabbing two of them by the throat – pulling another heavy surge of energy from the Stage Magician herself as it did.
Biting her lip and then shaking her head to wipe all those problems from her mind right now the Alstad girl squared her shoulders and faced towards her rocky counterpart .
Who, rather insultingly, was treating her as if she was no danger to it at all – no, Stone Riley thought it was perfectly okay to play with her ferocious little beast string puppets with no consequence as long as normal Riley was the only other one around!
Good thing our phantasm sent Miller this way then. The girl's mind responded to her observation infuriatingly.
Grumbling under her breath about uselessness in general and how obnoxious blood thirsty mind fragments might have just knocked out the group's friendly neighborhood Paladin by chucking him like a sack of grain out of a barn the small stage magician summoned a blank mask and then broke into shards floating in front of her. The white missiles sped towards the stone Riley like swarm of angry shrapnel out of a battlefield and then exploded into a cloud of magical flak when they reached their target.
Sweating profusely as she lowered her hand and began to gather energy for another offensive barrage the real Riley began to really hope that her copy was either as underpowered as Miyuki's or that Miller really wasn't passed out and quite prepared to render assistance.

Coco froze in shock.
For her, it was almost like looking back in time - how things were a long time ago. It was just a handful of years of course, hardly even a decade ago, but for her? These few years felt like they were the longest. She wasn't even that old after all. The fond nostalgia, the memories. It all washed over her in an instant seeing these two statues fight, side by side. 'We hardly do that anymore,' Coco thought to herself. A flash and bang - the rifle fired, punching the girl hard in the gut, winding her of all breath. Red spread and dyed the small, neat hole in the cloth around her waist an even deeper crimson shade as she was held in place by her doppelganger. 'Huh? What's this?' she wondered, confused. 'I'm hurting? I hurt again? I can...hurt?'
Noticing their foe going limp, the Not-Coco released the girl, letting her drop like a stone.
Coco watched as the apples of her eye slowly, very slowly grew more and more distant - she desperately reached a gloved hand out as they grew further and further away. She pointed a finger and closed an eye. "Bang!~" It leaped right out of her grasp in a shotgun blast of hundreds of red lancing threads, peppering the stone statues! More of her own cloth rapidly chased up their length to strengthen these anchored bits into terrifying tendrils, rooting right through their forms like a plant taking hold in hard, barren soil! The attack stopped Coco's fall as she suddenly strained against the lengths, a loud pop sounding as her shoulder dislocated before slamming into the wall side. Her will fading, they became nothing more than threads of cloth again, dropping her the rest of the way into the ground below in a brutal fall. She was still.
But, Coco stirred, and slowly, rolled herself onto her back in a daze as the others fought on.
It wasn't Duncan. It wasn't herself either. He wouldn't have aimed like that, somewhere so sloppy. And Coco knew she wouldn't have stopped there either. Looking down at the wound, she wondered if she'd see Percy again? Last time she hurt and bled like this, she recalled not going very far at all. As stone spike thrust and phantasms raced in the background, a few of the thin threads pushed into her wound by the round plucked out a shreds of metal and an abraded bullet - magic. It made everything better. Even Kevlar. "I-it's not deep...j-just a flesh w-wound," Coco softly muttered to herself, shaking, eyes welling up with tears at last. 'Saying that isn't as easy to say as it used to be!' a little voice in the back of her mind panicked! But even so, forming a staff out of pink and red cloth, she stood.
She needed to find Percy!

Thankfully, Miyuk was still under the control of normal gravity. Having been sent in a reverse course, the golf-ball of ice streaked at a rapidly descending Miyuki, whose eyes widened a bit in shock, but she caught herself and put up her forarms as a shield- along with them a rounded shield of Ice formed solid, several inches thick, blocking anything coming at her from the front. In defensive mode, she wasn't being idle, however, thinking of what she needed do to. Obviously, trying to be precise hadn't helped, so her next best bet was to overpower.
The Ruby was replaced swiftly by the Sapphire, and the Babylon key changed itself from a red flame to a blue drop of water, and the Magical Girl began to focus as much of her concentration on summoning as much water as she possibly could, directly above the fiery stone Druid.

Re: [Episode 4.1] The Mantle of Responsibility
The thing about being a stranger in a strange land, or in this case, a strange place of existence was that you were bound by its rules much like you were bound by elementary forces such as gravity. When you made a body for the Elementalia Magicus from the mind and soul, it had to follow the rules of the Elementalia Magicus, which were admittedly much looser than reality's laws. One thing that Mr. Miller was the first to note was pain - that was still a constant figure as he destroyed Riley's phantom wolves. He was almost overcome by the snarling spectres, but bested what was before him and moved on - trying to get further ahead into the melee and protect the others from the new combatants.
He was bleeding, but the damage had been cushioned by all of the armour he was wearing. Someone else was bleeding too after he heard the crack of the rifle. He paused for a moment - he'd heard lightning bolts and flames conjure before, but the crack of a rifle was new. He then made a nervous glance to each of the children and found that Coco was the target of a dual pronged attack. One to hold her and the other to make the shot.
There was one thing Miller did overlook though - Kevlar. She was a Cloth Mage after all, and after some thought, it wouldn't have surprised him if Duncan (the real one) had supplied her with Kevlar to use for her outfit. This moment of hesitation and consideration had made him err - and a wolf leapt up and bit down on his right wrist, bypassing his armour and sapping his essence of being.
"Coco - you alright?" He yelled over the melee as he bashed the wolf's snout in with his spare hand while his sword arm retained the blade within a locked gauntlet. Where do these wolves keep coming from?! He wondered to himself. Surely, the stone doppelganger had to run out of mana eventually.

Re: [Episode 4.1] The Mantle of Responsibility
Sakura let out an initial cheer when she saw her double go down, but that cheer changed into a surprise when she noticed the stone arrow now coming her way. She quickly attempted to dodge out of the arrows path, firing off two more of her own in an effort to destroy it and keep herself from being hurt.
Re: [Episode 4.1] The Mantle of Responsibility
Sakura's arrow sounded to have struck true when the shot sank in between the brush, with a pointed cracking sound.
More so, Coco's attack proved effective as well, her doppleganger sibling duo being split and twined apart as their stone bodies were cracked from the wedging cloth pieces. These statues pressed a strong offensive, but their obvious, rocky bodies were still just that, rock.
Not even Ruarc's double could stand for too long, the stone spike taking the statue up in the chest and shattering it with abrupt force. The statue stumbled, and one of it's arms came off, but had managed to keep itself standing. In a errant swing of its arm, and without minding Miyuki's impending assault, it tossed a mirroring attack, sending a spike striking up at Ruarc as well. However, the aim was off, and the crag was only enough properly bruise his arm, if not shake his bones a bit.
As her stone allies seemed to fall around her, the stone Riley seemed to curl in her finger menacingly. More strings forming up at the tips of her solid digits, with the mana smoking up from the ground. She reaved her arms in reverse, as if to tug more wolves from the ground. Unlike before, where more of the phantasmic wolves surged forth from the grass, this time the smoky strings pulled up nothing, and the strings themselves became smoke again. Even the already existing wolves were starting to falter, and one that was about to leap for Miller's neck, from an exposed side, faded before it could damage.
At that, the little stone performer began to panic, her face looking towards the ground, as if lost to where her minions had gone. She came to her knees and pressed hands to the floor, and mana began to surge up into her, but slowly smoke away just as it had with her strings. Instead of fighting, she quickly resumed patting on the ground in a furious motion, her stoic face giving no hint to the plight that wracked her stone heart.

Re: [Episode 4.1] The Mantle of Responsibility
With thunderous force, the huge sphere of water that Miyuki had summoned crashed down upon the stone Ruarc, but as it impacted, it did something else- it froze, both in an attempt to help crush the foe, and to try and incapacitate it if the crushing didn't work. Plus, Miyuki figured, if ice did as much damage as it had before, that would just add to the damage done to this foe. "Take that, you damn Fake!" she yelled, face contorted in concentration over her exertion of magical power.
Meanwhile, Raiko continued to make her way farther from the fight, heading away from the danger as much as she could. She was scared. She was powerless, and yet there was so much more danger than she had thought there would be. And Ruarc is still over there, so now i'm all alone, she thought, frantically searching for something to hide behind. something solid, and friendly, perhaps a rock that wasn't shaped like a person.

Re: [Episode 4.1] The Mantle of Responsibility
The real Riley herself blow air of her mouth in a loud tired “puh†as she kicked her own legs out from under her and landed somewhat comfortably on her bum. Furrowing her brow at her stone self's antics the girl was starting to feel guilty at her relief for the situation when faced full on with her other's obvious distress.
“Hey!†Riley shouted from her position on the ground towards her phantom that was standing tall still and fighting off the weakening and slowly dissipating wolves.
With one hand shrouded once more in ethereal flames the dog-helmed figure paused his motion just prior to touching a wolf and sending it up a toasty little pyre. Turning its head slowly towards its creator the phantasm was perfectly still, the shadows of its helmed Visage giving off a slightly annoyed and foreboding feeling of questioning.
Sticking her tongue out at the warrior Riley waved both hands in the direction of the Stone Riley. “Go see what's up please!â€
Nodding a single time the flames around the phantasm's hand fluttered away as if caught by a strong wind and the large figure simply walked its way through the remaining wolves, pushing them aside when needed.
Coming to stand before the tantruming stone girl the phantasm reached a heavy hand out and placed it on the figure's head, fingers tightly grasping into stone. Then with a full body shrug and a twitch of its head in annoyance the dog-warrior attempted to communicate with the stone guardian – sending a barrage of feelings at the being in pulses of death, disdain, a strong sense of right, and even... protection?

Re: [Episode 4.1] The Mantle of Responsibility
The fighting, the shouting - it all sounded muted to Coco's ears, Miller's concern for her in particular going completely unheard.
She kept aimlessly walking though, ignoring or not comprehending the desperate struggles all playing out about herself. For Coco, it was such an odd feeling. Bleeding, that is. It hurt after all. Very, very badly in fact - it was like a hole, roughly a finger's width, was literally poked through her skin and muscle, straight into her belly after all. The memories of something somewhat similar were so...distant and foggy. And mean and terrible - she had stuffed similar long ago and stuffed them away into a lock box! But now they floated up into her mind. And even then, with these memories, Coco wasn't even so sure what to do - just as then, she felt helpless. 'I feel really dizzy, and faint - why's that?' the girl asked herself. Looking down at her waist, she saw that it was red. Very, very red. 'That's a lot of blood - I didn't used to bleed. I should stop it, shouldn't I? Oh. That's right, yes. I should try and stop it from leaving me - they always made a big deal about that on shows'. Coming to a stop, she rested on her knees, dropping the cloth staff and cradling the wound with both hands.
Coco sat there, her back up against the reassuring solidity of stone, and muttered a Repair spell that she had used countless times.
It was only then, that she felt truly, utterly terrified when nothing happened at all - the realization that she well and truly was not only something along the lines of being Alive again but Hurt and Dying dawned on her with such force that Coco couldn't even cry, let alone scream in horror at what was happening! The girl frantically thought hard, her chest now rising and falling faster and faster and faster as she raked her mind for a spell, an incantation, anything that would stop or slow this down! Being undead meant that she didn't have to heal herself. Instead she Fixed herself! She had nothing to heal others with. Nothing at all - there was always a specialist, or they all took care of themselves after all! But despite this, Coco took a deep breath, and began to chant - it was like a mantra repeating over and over again.
The old, dusty spell in the back of her mind was torn out of the cobwebs and layered over itself again and again and again to make it do better than healing childish cuts and scrapes on the fingers and knees. Coco rocked back and forward in place as she continued to softly chant, fighting for her life for the very first time in years.

Re: [Episode 4.1] The Mantle of Responsibility
Relieved to be back on the offensive, Ruarc grinned as he landed a hit solid enough to smash most of his stone double’s torso. â€Have to admit, I feel kind of bad destroying a statue of me,†he thought to himself as his stone spike stumbled his opponent while Miyuki went in for the kill. However the statue was proving to be rather stubborn, not unlike Ruarc himself, and launched one more attack of its own. While its aim was thankfully off enough to where the human Druid received no serious damage, the opposing stone spike still managed cause a large, deep bruise on his right arm; meaning both of his arms were now uncomfortable to varying degrees.
“Alright, I no longer feel bad about you getting crushed,†Ruarc snarled a bit as he now looked forward to Miyuki finishing off the statue.
With his biggest problem all but taken care of, Ruarc turned his attention away from his statue to the others of the group to see where he should lend a hand if need be, but he also could not forget about Raiko. He was glad to see that most of the statues had been, and the remaining ones were going to be following the others soon enough. There were some injuries scattered around the group, and it looked like there was going to be a need for some triage. After a few more looks around the battlefield he could only hope that Raiko had found a safe place and was out of harm’s way, for he was still needed by the others.
Changing roles from combatant to medic, Ruarc dismissed his own minor wounds as he focus on the two present that were in worse condition; Coco and Miller. Miller was down and Coco looked to be in shock, so after quick deliberation Ruarc hurried over to the young girl first given a variety of circumstances; including Coco being younger and having visible wounds, and if Miller were awake he would likely be very insistent on Coco receiving treatment first.
As he drew closer to the young girl he knelt down next to her and looked her over. Through his inspection he notice that this was very different from when Coco was injured while fighting Ms. DuMonde, mainly in that she appeared to be a normal human with a serious injury.
“Oi Coco, Ah’m here ta help ya,†the Druid said in a very calm and comforting tone, the kind that he adopted when he would help children in his home village when they were sick or injured. He reached in to his robe to pull out a healing rune, and much to his dismay he could not find them.
â€Don’t tell me they didn’t come with me?!†Ruarc thought as he couldn’t find the stones anywhere. Thinking hard about what to do, he remembered back to the fight when the stone Ruarc repelled Miyuki’s attack. The statue had made the rune simply appear on it hand. â€Worth a shot.
Ruarc focused all that he could on his right palm and pictured the rune that he wanted, and his spirits rose when he saw the mark light up on his hand. Then, he set his hand reassuringly on Coco’s shoulder as he activated the rune, hoping that it would work despite Coco’s condition.
“You’ll be just fine, Coco,†Ruarc said, speaking now in English thinking it would comfort the American girl more. “Just listen ta my voice, and take nice, slow breaths.â€
