The rage filling Camilla as Niall ran off to recover the magical device she had just cleared to a safe distance was immeasurable. She couldn't deny that there was a good chance he was correct, but he'd also undermined the entire team's safety. She didn't notice the men of her squad taking slow steps away from her. She only had eyes for the punk who'd told her how to do her job and was busy carrying a loaded weapon with no instructions and no trigger safety.

She stormed down the alley as he was wrapping up his little pow wow and got an idea. Body armor flopped onto his shoulders with a padded thump. "Just for that, you can take point on your merry rescue mission. I don't know who you think you are, little man, but you can expect a full shit storm when our duty is done. You are reckless and disrespectful and I should probably cart you off to the medics with your buddy... But we're short on bodies and they've got an armory. So let's go." The Sergeant pulled Niall back in the direction of her team.

"Alright. Word is these assholes have the armory on base. Should go without saying, but no explosives once we're inside. Cleared hot on anyone that looks at you funny. Remember: they're PG. They likely know the call and response and could be in uniform, especially if they've seized parts of the base. We'll have to tread very carefully."

Finally, she turned to the police officer. "Good luck. You've got the prisoners and the wounded." She gestured to Cormac.

"Oi, nah. Ah'm actually feelin' pretty top, as it happens. No way Ah'm missing out on any action," Cormac said as he bounced a bit on the tips of his toes. In truth, he really was feeling better; he felt hot almost as though he had a fever, but felt very light and refreshed. The only complaint he would have was that it felt he had heartburn. Otherwise even his arm had stopped aching.

"Musta been like horseradish, that thing," the man posited. "Unpleasant, but it'll clear up a stuffy nose in a hurry. Now, show meet road?"

For effect, Cormac twirled his pistol with his injured hand, and put on a smile to mask the discovery that his shrapnel injuries were still there.

"Hmm." The staff sergeant's deliberation was brief. "Fine by me. Maybe you can keep your wild child buddy in check, hm? Keep him from playing with things better left alone. And you can consider that an order. Now, gentlemen, we've got an armory full of guns and separatists. Let's get to work. Niall: point. Skip: get me a map. Venidas: rearguard."

With the sudden extra weight of the armored vest on his shoulders, Niall sunk a bit before he recovered, slipping his arms through the holes and then fastening the front. He noted that it was an older model, from the Greatest war, lacking any of the active features that modern armor had, but still being plenty sturdy to stop most small arms. It was odd that the Sergeant would have such a thing, but considering he was wearing a replica of a jacket used more than two thousand years ago by a Terran nation that no longer existed except for in the history books, he couldn't exactly say much. Likewise, his firearm was even more antiquated than the Terran vest yet still perfectly serviceable. Without much further ado, Niall made his way toward Cormac, giving his old friend a hearty slap on the back as the other man's vigour seemed to be returning, before being ordered once again to take point.

Seeing as he was armed only a singular pistol, he didn't think that to be the greatest of ideas, but there wasn't anything he could do about it with an NCO ordering him around. "A' leas' Ah'm a good shot..." he muttered to himself, trying to make himself a bit less nervous as it started to sink in just how bad things had suddenly gotten. Taking a few moments to orient himself and register which way they needed to be going before he took off in the direction of the Marine base, Niall started to wonder, once again, if Enlisting in the UGR Marine Corps was actually as good of an idea as the recruiter had made it seem.
