Tenner City beat.

I'll figure out a description as we go.

The silence put Temperance on edge. Every second for him was days of calculations for a droid, and with each one that passed, his urge to stop the car and draw on their passenger grew.

All bad news, Temp answered Crevi. I hate it.

"Miss, can you speak? Give us a name or designator? We're detectives and you were found dumped in a ditch. Sooner we have your story, sooner you can get back to your business." And I can wash my hands of whatever this insanity is, he thought to himself. This stank of bad business: the kind that earned posthumous badges for eager detectives who stuck their noses in it.

The Gynoid blinked when Temperance spoke again, seeming to process what had been said, before she shook her head in a negative response. It seemed she understood the speech, but was somehow prevented from returning speech in kind; She was acting almost like a scared child, one that had a grasp of itself but was unable to process its current situation or respond to it in a very meaningful way.

She acted as if she was missing something. Like part of what made her more than just some frightened robotic creature was gone, or removed. the two detectives had very few guesses of what could be missing, though it wouldn't take an idiot to figure out that whatever was missing was currently in the possession of their precinct.

Scrap me for a spark. The text crawled across Temperance's HUD as his droid partner sighed heavily. Re-activating record-keeping protocols: linking with dispatch in 3, 2, 1-

Crevi's expression upshifted from its dull red glow into a vibrant gold once more. "This is Detective Eight-Seventeen Crevi. The body retrieved from the intersection of Redding and 23rd is currently live. Semantic processing appears damaged. Questioning is not possible at the current time stamp. Route a request for a neuromech to arrive at the Sugora Precinct as soon as possible." Crevi tapped their fingers against the dash of the patrol car as the red projection of their mouth pressed down into a needle thin line. "Refer to Evidence pictures E-1 through E-6 from the reported incident - hand-held item, electronically shielded - I need an immediate ID on whether or not that is a recently removed psychosomatic module and if so it's registered user."

The android turned their gaze on the gynoid behind them their lights dimming to a less startling brilliancy as the detective moved. "Simple statements: We cannot assist you at the moment. You are not yourself. Actions you take can result in us restraining you. Actions you take will be viewed under mitigating circumstances. You require release by a doctor before we can inquire on your current circumstances. Do you understand?"

The Gynoid stared wide-eyed at Crevi as the Android spoke to her, pulling her legs up onto the seat and folding them up in front of her torso, wrapping her arms around the lower appendages protectively. She didn't seem to fully understand what was being said, however, the calm, methodical manner in which the former combat android spoke did seemed to keep her from spooking beyond the protective stance she had already taken.

WHat Crevi would notice immediately, through the large amount of experience it had stored in its processors, was that the Gynoid was acting almost on human instincts, and not responding as a normal droid would have- Most AI's preservation protocols directed very different responses to similar situations, while their current subject was acting instead as a scared, confused child.

However, after a few moments seeming to think over the detective's words, the Gynoid did seem to nod, as if she perhaps understood the intent, but wasn't certain of what was happening.

While Temp received a lot of flak from his colleagues regarding his demeanor, his keen eye was the reason they begrudgingly kept him around. Even to him the posturing seemed odd. If it didn't seem so genuine it would have felt performative, like those droid dancers that were so prolific in certain circles.

She's not your ordinary dump droid, came the next snarky message. Otherwise, Temperance had nothing more to contribute until they arrived at the station.

Before long, the trio in the patrol vehicle made their way to the precinct, the gynoid in the back seat maintaining her defensive stature, though at some point she had managed to buckle her seatbelt, something that Temperance had not done for the previously inactive droid. As such, the rest of the trip passed without incident, and when they rolled up to the precinct, the same young officer that had been assisting them before came out, coming to a stop next to the patrol car, holding out the bag of 'evidence' that had fallen from the now awakened gynoid earlier when they had been examining her.

"Here I brought the thing you asked about out. We didn't have anybody in that knew how to examine it or figure out if it was a psycho-whatsit like you said, but it does look like some kind of chip for a computer or something, so maybe it is what you said!" The young officer seemed quite eager to be of assistance, though his awkward demeanor made it difficult for anyone to take him seriously. However, Crevi and Temperance knew he was at least capable of the basics of being an officer- after all, he had made it through the academy and was here working as an officer.

"Thanks, champ," Temp monotoned as he accepted the evidence bag, then passed it to his partner. Looking back to the officer, the detective suggested he help them escort the passenger in-- just in case.
