Now was his chance, Eryl was visibly weakened and she was clearly panicking. If Ruarc was going to use the rune, he would not likely get a better shot than this. Clenching a fist over the rune in his palm, and he focused a portion of his energy into his Stone Skin spell; with his increased defenses, the Druid was going to power his way in.

Amid the chaos of battle Ruarc charged forward, using Fissure to create a series of steps he was going to drop down from above to limit the chance of another intervention from the sides.
Ascending the steps, the Druid's robe fluttering as he went, he readied his right hand to seal Eryl; and he braced himself for opposition, and tarnishing himself further.

As Coco attacked, the strange, warm feeling she felt was overwhelmed by something else - a hunger, that was deep, drawn out and unrelenting in its painful depths - Wrath.

Even as her attacked connected, the long teeth piercing her foe, the girl felt a giddy glee rise and burst out of her chest. Perverse and spiteful, Coco watched in twisted satisfaction as she shoved the twisting, turning points deeper into the source of her misery, running her clean through several times over! But this too, was snatched away. She could see how Eryl cried for help as she bled. How she weakly struggled in vain against the impaling lances that held her. She even thought she saw fear. The Young-Girl-turned-Lich-Turned-Mahou-Shoujo-Turned-Cloth-Witch found herself flying through the air as all her magic came undone, magic completely sapped. Hundreds of yards of cloth of various colors and numerous random items flew out of their magical storage alongside Coco. Trading cards, a tent, candy, cooking stove, more clothing, pots and pans, stacks of manga....together, they all landed in a huge heap, the large mass, by sheer size, preserving her modesty now that her clothing - previously fabricated and held by magic - was gone.

Coco lay there in the dark under her mountain of goods, and was still. She felt utter despair.

The shoe had, for the briefest of moments, been on the other foot, and she had been no better than they had been. Even though Eryl had done something horrible, she had come straight down to her level - being horrible enough to want to hurt someone. To enjoy it. Even Percy would have recoiled in horror and disgust if he saw that. 'Percy.' The thought, the name, echoed in Coco's mind. To cause pain, to hurt someone; she didn't want to do that. It was a bitter means to a desperately wanted end, not the end itself to be savored and enjoyed. What Coco really wanted, was to save her friends. Raiko and Percy. Percy and Raiko. Especially Percy. And no matter how impossible it seemed, she wanted to try. Still wanted to try, and badly. Right hand clenching, Coco rose from the depths of the heap, clad in nothing but cloth sheets which stuck to her body, and brought her backup plan to bear on Eryl - a massive, brutal Weapon - and fired.

Unlike everything else, it was the backup for a reason - its shells were loaded with lead.

Miyuki watched as everything suddenly turned on its head, several time, in the span of less than a minute. She could barely make heads or tails of what was going on, who was where, why they were there, and what they were doing. it didn't matter though, as she was still focused. Intent on one thing, her target, Eryl, the Witch, mage, thing, whatever. Miyuki no longer cared. This time, instead of Ice, Miyuki attacked with its other form, Water. The frost which had melted and turned to steam by the fire of Aurus' wrath had been once again collected, now a roiling, boiling sphere of overheated water. It flew, swiftly, splashing on Eryl and Encapsulating her, and then it began to contract, and condense, Squeezing her as it simultaneously suffocated her. If she couldn't get out, it would be a waiting game to see whether she first drowned or imploded.

Raiko was at a loss as she watched everything, but for some reason she suddenly recalled she was carrying a baby. She held the baby out at arm's length, and looked over it. "Who are you?" she asked, as if the baby would understand. "Why did Eryl give you to me?" Raiko was puzzled. all of her usual knowledge seemed to be completely useless here. She was out of her element. but she wondered....

"Hey, Baby? Could you help us somehow?" the Shrinemaiden asked.

Ruarc would find that the wild mage had plenty of fight in her yet. The Druid, upon getting close, found the wounded triclops shoot up onto her hands. Her stare was vicious, full of anger and desperation. At the peak of her troubles, she threw up her hand, and fresh gout of flame rose up between her and the druid. The heat was blinding, and felt to dry the moisture and oils on his skin, much as a real fire in the corporeal world. However, this was simply a stopgap for her escape, a last ditch effort with a mountain of mana supporting her. With the Irishman set aside, Eryl would escape, fleeing him and the dark, forboding rune he carried.

Yet, she was not paying attention to Miyuki, who cut off her advance, but sealing her in. The moisture that hydromancer could summon was thin, considering the elements around them. The containment was hard to maintain, but Eryl could not properly counterattack. Bound in place and being crushed, Maelgwyn made a bid to press outward with her own mystic hydromancy. Her progress was too slow, and Ruarc would end her if he even got an arm inside the bubble. Instead, Eryl drew own Percy's reserves visibly, brought the flames to Miyuki instead. A red circle popped up under the hydromancer's feet, and the sparking flames licked up before threatening to consume her.

The fire never came, as Eryl was blasted and torn from her containment by Coco's shell. The imprisoned mage slammed into the ground at the violent rapport, and was unmoving for a few moments. The attack had left the mage with nasty mark on her body, blood escaping her by the form of red smoke.

The Librarian of Cardiff turned, only to find Ruarc standing above her. Bloodied, battered, and beaten down by tactics she did not seem to expect, she weakly put up a hand.

"Wait... P-please..." cracked Eryl's voice, all three of her eyes staring at the rune in the druid's hand. She held no confusion of its function, as the fear and panic was evident, "I don't--...! Not like this...!"

The last set of runes were beginning to fade on Eryl's skin, Percy's stretch of time was running direly thin.

"M-Mercy..."

Three and a half more, each skittering rune on her body was coming off at ten seconds. More than half a minute left.

"Please..."

All the Druid needed to do was press the rune to her skin, and then it would all end. Forever.

----

The baby stared at the shrine-maiden, crying expectantly as most children did at her age. She showed little more understanding than most toddlers, choosing to wail instead of offer an adequate response. Aurus' roars continued to howl alongside the child, but neither one seemed to match to the bellowing pipe organ mounted on the baby's armor. Very likely, with the volume of the noise, the child did not even hear Raiko's request. So, it began to solve its own issue.

With its arms outstretched, the horned baby began forming a ball drawn from the rock around them. The mix of metal and slag, slowing began to gain shape into the head of Aurus, Percy's familiar. Little fingers feeling, the child, apparently seeking consolation, hugged the hastily formed head to her chest. This seemed to calm the child down, lowering volume around them.

Fire was something Ruarc could handle. Between his defensive robes and natural resilience the flames, while unpleasant and still very much made of fire, ended his most recent attempt at sealing Eryl. The druid collided with the ground after falling through the jet of fire, and rolled a few times for good measure in the event any part of his robe had lit up. His face was singed and his eyes stung from the sudden dryness, but his adrenaline fought through the discomfort. Jumping back to his feet he worried for a moment that Eryl had escaped, but it seemed that his team came through, and the witch was trapped. It was time, Percy couldn't wait much longer.

As he approached Eryl, he could hear her begging him for mercy, and he may have felt some pity for the woman had it not been for a sudden realization; this situation was similar to Caoranach when it had stolen taken Laoise from him. This new witch had stolen not one but two of his friends, and he did not know if he would ever see them alive again; and that is why Ruarc readied Soul Freeze without a second thought otherwise. To him, he sealing his spite and anger towards Caoranach just as much as he would be sealing Eryl.

Having tried enough times now, Ruarc approach steadily but still with some amount of caution as he prepared a lightning rune in his free hand just in case. Once he drew within arms reach, he saw just how little time there was. "You forced our hand, and for that, I am sorry," Ruarc told Eryl in Welsh and he stuck his hand inside the bubble and grabbed Eryl's shoulder. Not wishing to provide another chance for he to escape, the Druid didn't waste time before channeling energy into the dark rune.

Inside the Avatar, Riley fought for control as her phantasm's rage climbed as high as the fires that sent her airborne. The part of her that was currently the knight was outraged that it had been robbed of the fight it had so dearly wished for.

The Alstad girl had told Malegwyn that she would not chain herself based on the wants of another, but – as the stage magician pushed her trademark grin across her face – having to chain yourself was a different matter all together.

Even when a part of you didn't want, when it wanted to see how far it could go – even if it was going up against a god.

Really that defiance was what made someone human. Whether it was Riley herself, any other member of the group, or even Eryl.

The Avatar crashed into the ground and – despite being incorporeal – Riley squeezed her eyes shut as the pain her creation felt slammed into her mind. With a gasp the girl pushed herself out of her spell and suddenly found herself on her knees in front of the her knight.

The Knight, despite most of its body rapidly fading as it turned back into a phantasm, placed its gauntleted hands protectively over the Stage Magician's cloaked shoulders and scanned the area.

A growl transmitted from the construct to its owner as it caught site of Aurus still standing – even without the power it had had as an Avatar the phantasm was still looking for a fight.

Riley shook her head but kept smiling as best she could. The girl pushed her self to her feet with some effort, shrugging off one of the phantasm's hands as she did but placing the other more firmly about her shoulder with her own hand.

“Not today. I think we've done too much to everything here already.” Riley craned her head backwards as she spook and smiled directly at her Knight's helmet. “Anyone tries anything I would think was stupid and they would think was heroic from here on out punch 'em for me will yah?”

A somewhat happy grunt of acceptance encircled with a cloak of laughter came through the physical link Riley had with her phantasm before the Knight stepped backwards and broke contact with its owner.

Blowing out a puff of breath Riley shrugged to herself and then walked forward – unprotected by her Avatar or her the power of her cloak – making her way towards Aurus.

“Oi! Dummy!” The Stage Magician yelled diplomatically towards what for all appearances was the last god standing. “Yah get down here right now, right? I'm not fighting yah anymore and if anyone else thinks they got the mind to do so they'll be flattened before you can even say “How do yah do?” - politely or with your blades too!”

The young girl briefly considered crossing her arms for effect, but knew in a flash that wasn't really her style. Instead she folded her hands behind her and head and whistled a bit before flashing the first real grin she had shown in a while.

“Yah better not be too white hot up there to be listening! An' if it is even in your thoughts to try and keep going – well – you'd just go and kill me right quick I'd imagine and then finish on up by burning anything left in this durned place that you care about!”

Coco had never went to 'Plan B' before. In other words? She had never fired a gun in her life.

That was why the teenage girl was knocked clean off her feet, and now found herself laying atop her pile of goods, modesty preserved by some of the random trinkets as she temporarily lost what little control she had left of her magic. Her ears rang, and she was seeing stars, but as everything started to come to, it seemed that things may have finally turned around. The sound of Eryl begging still grated on her like nails on a chalkboard - the idea of simply having to do this to somebody, anybody, was horrific and accordingly gut wrenching. But it wasn't called 'an act of necessity' because it was unnecessary. Eryl, as she was, or was to be, had to be stopped at all costs. That was why Coco didn't say a word as she lazily lay there, watching.

That was why, Coco noticed Raiko, formerly lost in all the rage and chaos of her own feeling and the battle itself.

The idea that their party would even get to leave this realm intact, with the same number as it went in, was something that had Coco's heart leap. It was shameful, considering their original objective, but also testament to the catastrophe that had nearly happened. As well as how plain lucky they all were to get to this point, with Ruarc delivering the Coup de Grâce. Percy. Percy, as he was, was gone if what Eryl said was right. But Coco was glad he was put to rest in this way, his vanishing from the world avenged. Even though it was by sheer luck. Knowing this, she stood, groggily rising, draped in rolls of pink cloth as though they were haphazardly tossed over her, and soon arrived at Raiko's side. It was only then that she well and truly saw it for the first time. That her mind properly registered just what Raiko was cradling in her arms.

And who that might just really be.

Coco started to cry at the thought. A few silent tears at first, which became a small stream, backed by bubbling as the girl fought to sniff them back. The dams slowly broke of course, and soon, she was gently sobbing as Raiko held the child as though it were her own son.

As with any magic of great power, there was a great flash.

What sat in place of Eryl Maelgwyn was a statue of pure rock, face frozen in that terrified, baleful state. Her hand was raised, as if in an attempt to slap Ruarc's away. Yet, nothing remained of the horrible mage's power or presence. The air around them cooled to a considerable state, the heat of battle drowned in the victorious fanfare of silence. Even the runes, which were fading away slowly, one by one, fell off, their glows breaking apart weakly on the ground. With the core soul dispelled, the binding was broken, but now remained the process of pulling Percy from the dark.

The world around them was falling apart again. What storms that were conjured in Eryl's madness were subsiding, the beasts were breaking apart as all things did. Edges of the realm were slowing converging in the distance, larger and larger pieces breaking off by the more and more. For sure, this time, the world had lost the connection to the magic that sustained it. Even the sensation of mana in the air was thinner, bringing back the normal taste of air in the regular world. Rocks around them, not secured to the ground, slowly fell upward, breaking apart as well. Everything gave off the notion of death, as Elementalia Magicus began to die around them.

They could have as much as an hour or two until the whole place fell apart, and them with it.

----

Aurus, on the other hand, was still alive and kicking. Instead of breaking apart, his very being seemed to be the most solid of them all. Before him, stood the much smaller, and much more fragile Riley. The dark warrior contemplated the child, staring down with through those smoldering eye holes in his helmet. Then, without a word, he settled his gauntlet on her shoulder, and grabbed her, dispelling the magic on her person. His other blade was sheathed into the ground as something horrifying unfolded.

The mouthpiece of the God of Rage melted, and the helmet cracked back all the way to the shoulders. Bending down from the neck was an enormous, lava-dripping maw, and Riley seemed to be taking a one-trip ride to the inside of it.

When Raiko saw the infant create itself a visage of Aurus, and use said object to pacify itself, something suddenly clicked in Raiko's mind. This, baby-thing, whatever it was, was Aurus' child. While she dared not to think too heavily on that idea, she did notice Coco standing above her. looking at Coco, then back at the baby, she yelled at the young mageling. "Hey! Coco! Catch! And give it to Aurus!" she instructed, tossing the baby up to the teenage-looking Coco.

*****

Miyuki sighed, and collapsed, at the sight of Maelgwyn being turned to stone. Her powers were nearly exhausted ofter the fierce battle, but she knew she couldn't rest long. There was more work to be done. lamely, she made her way to her feet and stumbled over to the statue of the evil mage, touching it briefly via a prod from her index finger. "Where do we find Percy now?" she asked, turning to look at the group- She stopped cold at the sight of Aurus attempting to eat Riley, frozen without a clue of what to do to stop the god from harming the young illusionist.

Ant that was that. Ruarc had petrified a woman. "It was warranted though, was it not?" Ruarc thought to himself as he tried to justify his actions. He had used magic that could easily have him kicked out of the Order, he had permanently lost a portion of his own soul, and Eryl would now never move again simply because Ruarc did not know what else to do. He had stopped the ritual though, which hopefully meant Percy was alright; hopefully.

"But Raiko?!" the druid asked aloud as he cast about for his lost maiden, and felt a wave of relief wash over him as she had reappeared and seemed to be fine. It took a lot of restraint to maintain focus on the task at hand. Aurus was still in a state of rage and appeared to be winning his bout with Riley, Percy's condition was unknown as of yet, and the world around the was collapsing. All of these issues seemed, to Ruarc, to hinged upon Percy as the root, so Ruarc was going to try and help resuscitate the Welshman in hopes that he would know what to do and how to fix everything.

"Miyuki, Ah'm gonna see to Percy, he isn't through this yet, Ah might need yur help, but it looks like Riley might need some as well," Ruarc said to the schoolgirl as he passed by, posing a choice to her in case it helped her decide. As he continued to Percy's place on the altar he reactivated his eye's detection magic to see if it could give him any clues about how to help Percy, or at least show him where the problem was.
