Steven was orphaned at a young age, two to be exact, and so he was raised by his grandparents. When he was growing up he was always excited to hear his grandfather, a retired fighter veteran himself, tell stories from when he was in the navy. His favorite stories were the ones about his father, whom was also a pilot and flew in the same squadron as Steven's grandfather. It was because of these stories that Steven had resolved himself to one day join the Terran Navy, and follow in the footsteps of his father and his grandfather to become an ace fighter pilot. At age sixteen, the minimum age for the Naval Academy, Steven sent in his application to the naval academy, and later that year was accepted into the Academy to begin his training for a career in the navy and as a fighter pilot. While attending the academy he was near the top of his class, and by graduation he was among a group of students who were offered leadership roles within the Terran Navy. But Steven had no interest in commanding a star ship and turned the offer down. After his graduation, which he graduated fifth in his class of one-hundred and thirty-two, Steven quickly enlisted as a wingman for Green Squadron. At the age of twenty-one Steven was at last in the cockpit of a scimitar starfighter flying as a wingman for the very same squadron that both his grandfather and his father flew for. After a time and after dozens of skirmishes and a few large engagements with the drathonian naval forces, Steven was yet another step closer to his goal when he became the squadron leader of the Greens.
